Holiday Gift Guide for Your Coworkers

Tis the season of gift giving and my favorite time of year! No matter what holiday you celebrate and how you choose to commemorate, if you work in an office, you might just be lucky enough to exchange presents with your favorite coworkers at your company holiday party.

Whether it’s a secret Santa, white elephant, or traditional gift exchange, getting your coworkers the right gifts can be challenging. Just because you spend eight hours per day in the same office space doesn’t mean you know everything about them.

Without breaking the bank this holiday season, here are six reasonably priced ($20 or less) gifts that are sure to spread holiday cheer and make you the colleague of the season.

The World Traveler
Is your boss jet-setting between countries every month and constantly complaining about excess-weight charges she has to pay for over-packing? Nothing says happy holidays like helping your boss save money with a digital luggage scale. It will also make her rethink buying those heavy souvenirs to take home to the kids.
Check out the Balanzza Digital Luggage Scale on for $19.

The Techie
Every office has someone who is constantly attached to his iPad or iPhone. Make it easier for him to access these gadgets outside in the blistering cold, all while keeping his hands toasty warm! Get him a pair of AGloves that are touch screen friendly for $18. He’ll never have to worry about frostbite while waiting for the train.

The Environmentalist
Who doesn’t love an eco-friendly gift that doubles as a water bottle and a nightlight? If you know your coworker loves to go camping and uses the same old crummy water bottle day in and day out, get her a Solar Powered Night Light and Water Bottle. Powered by solar renewable energy, this is one awesome hydration compilation.

The Foodie
There are numerous gifts you can get for foodies but a safe option would be a Zagat Restaurant Guide in the city of your coworker’s residence for just $15. And if you can recommend a few of the restaurants in the guide, go ahead and flag them to add a personal touch.

The Sports Enthusiast
If you have a coworker who shoots hoops in his cubicle trashcan and knows his team’s batting averages better than your company’s year end financials, indulge him. Gift him with a Pro Mini Basketball Hoop. For under $20, he can hang the hoop on his door or the wall of his cubicle for quality break time. Now all he needs is a crowd to cheer him on.

The Random Coworker
Sometimes you just don’t know a person well enough to guess what he or she might like. In this case, a few safe gifts would be a Starbucks gift card, a gift tower from Harry & David, or a bottle of wine. If you do go the wine route, just make sure you don’t get one of these bottles (especially for your boss!)
