More than a Face in the Crowd
What is the best way to network during a company presentation? There are always so many people lining up to talk to the presenters. How should I follow-up with the managers I meet there?
Answer
Company presentations are a time to be quick on your feet. Get there early and scope out the layout of the room. Many of the company reps will be there early, so you will have a jump on the competition. Collect business cards from everyone you meet and make notes on the back regarding your conversations. This way, when you send a follow-up email, you can mention something that was directly related to your conversation. If you don’t get a response in a week or so, send a follow-up by forwarding the first email you sent, with a new one highlighting some recent press about the company.
