Connecting Outside of the B-School Scene
I didn’t get any callbacks from my resume drops. How do I find and attract the firms that don’t come on campus?
Answer
The first thing you need to do is ask an experienced professional (e.g., counselor at career services or a career coach) to help evaluate why you didn’t get any callbacks from your resume drops. Use that feedback to better your chances with future companies.
For those companies that don’t come to campus, research them extensively via:
• Peers who have worked there, which are the top information source.
• Consult with career services: They are there to help you with your search.
• Check for a list of alumni that may work there.
• Research their websites.
• Find any independent research done on the company, like WetFeet Insider Guides.
