The Philadelphia-based company is the third largest food provider and second largest uniform supplier in the country. ARAMARK offers dining and concession services in hospitals, k-12 school systems, colleges, airports, sporting events like the 2008 Olympics, museums, correctional institutions, senior living facilities, and more. The company supplies uniforms for healthcare, public safety, and technology workers through ARAMARK Uniform and Career Apparel.
Founded in 1959, ARAMARK is owned by an investment group led by chairman and CEO Joseph Neubauer, who took the company private in 2007. ARAMARK is setting its sights on international expansion in Europe, Japan, and China. The company’s Chinese presence was strengthened in 2006, when it acquired Beijing-based food services outfit Golden Collar.
