Anheuser-Busch

Company Overview

In addition to putting out Budweiser, Anheuser-Busch’s number one brand, Bud Light, Bud Ice, Busch, and Busch Light, the St. Louis based company owns a majority or plurality stake in an eye-popping number of breweries.

It operates 12 breweries in the United States. The company is one of the largest U.S. manufacturers of aluminum beverage containers but green-minded job seekers needn’t worry: Subsidiary Anheuser-Busch Recycling Corp. is one of the largest recyclers of aluminum beverage cans in the world, recyling 25 percent more cans than sells. Anheuser-Busch also encourages its employees to be environmentally and socially conscious. Its “Clean Teams” keep clean litter and assist with recycling efforts at major sporting events across the country, including the Daytona 500, LPGA tournaments, Major League Baseball all-star games, Sturgis’ Bike Week, and college football tailgating events. The Clean Teams also volunteer in river cleanups and community beautification and restoration projects.

Anheuser-Bushch’s operations extend outside of the United States, as well. It owns a 50 percent share of Mexico's top brewer, Grupo Modelo, which makes Corona and Negra Modelo among many other brands. It has a stake in a number of small breweries, including a 33 percent share in Redhook Ale Brewery. A-B even owns 25 percent of China’s Tsingtao. The company also makes Kirin beers for distribution in the United States through a joint venture agreement with Kirin Brewing Company of Japan.

In addition, A-B distributes energy drinks and sweet alcoholic beverages aimed at women, and operates Busch Entertainment theme parks and the Metal Container Corporation aluminum can company. Anheuser-Busch also has interests in malt production, rice milling, real estate development, turf farming, metalized and paper label printing, bottle production and transportation services.
